🌱 Time for the first drought situation report of the year in Poland 🌱
We analyzed official data from municipalities that reported drought conditions in the first reporting period (IUNG-PIB), along with weather and satellite data (IMGW-PIB, Copernicus). Here are the key facts:
• 🌾 Drought conditions in cereal crops were declared in 303 municipalities (approx. 12%). The most affected areas are in the northwestern regions of Poland.
• ☔️ From February to April, a precipitation deficit occurred in all voivodeships across the country.
• 💧 We’re observing very low soil moisture levels nationwide, particularly in eastern Poland. Since April, the highest levels of vegetation stress have also been appearing in the east, which will impact crop yields.
